When it comes to cars, some may think speed is the name of the game. That’s not always the case – there are some vehicles whose lack in speed they make up for in quality, performance and design. Some examples include the Mazda Miata, Jeep Wrangler,  and Subaru Impreza. These three cars may be slow, but they are as efficient as the muffler attached to their undercarriage. Allow us to expound.

Mazda Miata

This model may be considered slow, but it is definitely still a great vehicle. We’re talking about the Mazda MX-5 or more popularly known as the Mazda Miata, a lightweight two seater roadster.

It only has 115 horsepower, far lower than most of its competitors. Yet somehow it’s still quite popular, as proven by it being the best-selling two-seater convertible in automobile history. Just how many cars have they sold? As of 2014, 940,000 units have been sold globally. From 1989 to 1997 alone 400,000 cars were bought. Another amazing fact about this car? Since it is so light, it makes steering super easy.

In the words of well renowned British automobile critic Jeremy Clarkson, “The fact is that if you want a sports car, the MX-5 is perfect. Nothing on the road will give you better value. Nothing will give you so much fun. The only reason I’m giving it five stars is because I can’t give it fourteen.” So pull down the hood and enjoy your drive!

Jeep Wrangler

The Jeep Wrangler may not be that fast of a vehicle, but for sure it’s one of the best off-road vehicles you will ever encounter. Over the years, the Jeep Wrangler has been manufactured by numerous car companies, including Chrysler and Pars Khordo, but the design and concept has remained fairly constant.

It is a Guinness World Record setter, as it holds the record for the highest altitude attained by a four-wheeled vehicle at the height of 21,804 feet or 6,646 meters at Chile’s Ojos del Salado the highest volcano in the world. Now let’s see a faster four wheeler try to defeat that feat! It’s also been awarded the Models to Best Hold Its Value multiple times by the Kelly Blue Book, a California based vehicle valuation and automotive research company, namely in the years 1998, 1999, 2003, 2011 and 2012. Next year, be on the lookout for another version of the Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Wrangler Pickup, which is expected to be released in 2017.

Subaru Impreza

Do you know what makes the Porsche not just a great luxury car, but a great drive as well? Its flat-four engine. If you want a vehicle with the same engine at a much lower price, and you’re willing to settle for something slower, you can go for the Subaru Impreza. The car also features a beautiful symmetrical gorgeous design, and is cleverly engineered to suit your life and your needs.

The Subaru Impreza is offered in two variants, namely the four-door sedan and the five-door hatchback. There are also two transmission systems available, the front and all-wheel drive. This car has been in production since 1992 and for sure it will be in production for more years to come.
