Luxurious Vehicles Over The Years

There’s a big possibility that your car has parts made of steel tubes. In the Philippines, car owners are lucky enough that there are many repair centers around, but what if they own cars that can’t be repaired in the nearest garage? When it comes to luxury cars, it’s better if they are repaired at their designated garages, or at least an exteremely competent car repair shop.

Cars were a luxury when they were first made, and then luxury cars were made to provide more comfort and more features to drivers and their passengers. Before World War 2, European car producers such as Rolls Royce made luxury vehicles. Today they still make collectible pieces available. After World War 2, Germany became known for its car brands such as BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke AG) which also owns Rolls Royce Motor Company, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen which owns Audi, Lamborghini, and Bentley.

1910s – Tipo 8, Isotta Fraschini

After World War 1, this Italian company which now known to produce cars, trucks, and machines for ships and airplanes, exclusively sold luxurious cars. The company was founded by Cesare Isotta, Vincenzo Fraschini, Oreste Fraschini, and Antonio Fraschini in 1900. One of their luxury cars is the Tipo 8 which is a favorite of old movies.

1920s – Rolls Royce 20, Rolls Royce Ltd.

This is another one of the favorites of period movies. It first came out in 1922 and Rolls Royce stopped producing it in 1929. It had two types, a four door sedan and a four door convertible. It looks much like the Tipo 8, but had higher windows and less prominent fenders.

1930s – Cadillac V-16, Cadillac

This car was also known as Cadillac sixteen and was first released in 1930 and production stopped in 1940 when the Second World War started. It was a made-to-order car, custom-made for every customer. In the one decade that it had been in production, only 4076 cars were made.

1940s – Lincoln Continental, Lincoln (Ford)

All the versions of the Lincoln Continentals in the 1940s mostly had the same body same, but had a two door coupe and convertible version. It was produced in the 1940 to 1948. After the Second World War, it was given a somewhat new look to attract buyers.

1950s – Isabella, Borgward

Production of this car started in 1954. It became Borgward’s most known and popular model.

1960s – Lincoln Continental Convertibles, Lincoln (Ford)

In 1961, Lincoln released four door convertibles, four door sedans, and a 2 door hardtop. These cars were supposed to be a version of the Ford Thunderbird in 1961. These Continentals were produced from 1961 to 1969.

1970s – El Dorado Convertible, Cadillac

In the seventies, Cadillac came back with their El Dorado convertible. Their windows still were frameless, and had 2 door coupe and 2 door convertible versions. It was produced from 1971 to 1978.

1980s – 380SL, Mercedes-Benz

The white Mercedes-Benz 380SL was popular during the eighties.

1990s – Majestic, Jaguar

This car was only in production from 1993 to 1994, and only 121 cars were built for it was discontinued. An even more limited edition version called Vanden Plas Majestic was made and a little over 500 units were produced. Each one was red, except the sole black car made for the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

2000s – Audi Roadster, Audi

In the year 2000s, luxury cars had a more rounded and softer look like the Audi Roadster. It was a two door convertible that looked quite compact compared to luxury cars of other decades.

2016 – BMW 4 series Gran Couple, BMW

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe looks like it’s perfect for city driving and for executives who work in tall high rise skyscrapers. It has impressive mileage and looks sleek and imposing.
