In spite of the 21st Century fandom of hybrid vehicles and sexy muscle cars, some hearts remain enamored by the timeless beauty of the classics. Their enigmatic elegance prove to be an irresistible pull for numerous car lovers. Once you take a peek at Jay Leno’s collection, you’ll immediately understand what we’re talking about.

But very few of us enthusiasts don’t have the wealth that Mr. Leno has, so you better know your stuff if your considering to purchase a classic car yourself. Investing on a classic car would mean braving a depleted supply of your demand.

If not modified at all, a lot of classics that you’d get to see are probably those that have been sitting in junk yards for far too long.

Going around Maintenance and Service Availability

CONS: Your vintage Cooper or Royce may be the classiest set of wheels in the block, but if its isolated from any nearby brand accredited mechanic, you might as well give it its own self-destruct button. Parts for vehicles released decades ago will be much harder to come by.

PROS: Thanks to several proven techniques in long-term maintenance and restoration, many classic care are still sold in near-perfect condition. If the previous owner took excellent care of his baby, you’ll spend a lot less in actual restoration process, although expect the initial price tag to be quite expensive.

Know Material Valuability

The question of its durability is a continuous battle between yays and nays.

CONS: Unlike today’s modern cars which are composed of complex blends of metal, there is a higher probability for classic cars to suffer leak and rust problems. Even if you do have the cash for it, be wary of the financial obligations of owning a classic car.

PROS: Unlike the latest cars of this generation, classic vehicles that are bought as collections will maintain its value. Just ask Jay Leno! So, as long as it is properly taken care of, your investment will only grow in time.

Though todays’ muscle cars do give quite a shock with their macho engine blasts and sexy bods, nothing beats a vintage and original feel provided by our old favorites.
