A radiator is a device that exchanges heat. It can be applied to numerous devices such as computers, laptops, generators, and heavy machinery, to name a few, which you can find in numerous radiator suppliers around the Philippines. Today, we’ll look at the radiator applied in automobiles.

Radiators cool the antifreeze placed in the engine to regulate its temperature. Before the engine ignites, antifreeze solution (or radiator fluid) is placed in the engine. As the car’s engine heats up, radiator fluid absorbs the heat, preventing the engine parts from suffering a meltdown, rendering it ineffective.

Too much heat in the car’s engine stalls it. Because of the engine’s operating temperature, the antifreeze solution can reach up from between 67 – 235 (boiling point) Fahrenheit.

When this happens, a temperature-sensitive valve in the engine opens, where a water pump transfers the hot antifreeze into the radiator. The first areas it passes through are pipes laced with fins. What the fins do is absorb the heat from the antifreeze, cooling it faster as it travels further into the radiator.

Sometimes, the pipes with fins are not part of the radiator. When that happens, the fluid immediately goes to the mesh portion of the radiator, where a fan cools the antifreeze. The fan is powered by a thermo time switch, a device that knows when to exactly turn on (radiator fluid is hot) and off (antifreeze is cool).

Once the fluid’s temperature is lowered, it is now ready to be brought back to the engine for temperature normalizing. The antifreeze mixture travels through another series of pipes until it reaches the water pump. The water pump then pushes the solution back into the engine. When the antifreeze is again warm, the cycle repeats itself.

Maintenance

Over time, the repeated cycle of re-cooling affects the parts of the radiator. In order to keep it in shape, apple the following tips on how to maintain your car’s radiator.

  • Make sure that the radiator fluid is always at the maximum level. Not having enough antifreeze damages your radiator and, eventually, your engine. Without the proper amount of antifreeze, the car’s engine heats much faster. Overheating can become much more of a risk, causing it to stall during long trips.
  • Regularly check the parts of your radiator. The rubber hose is what guides the fluid from the engine into the device. If there are holes on the surface or if it looks decayed, immediately replace it. If the fan and the thermo time switch are not in sync, go to your nearest mechanic to have it checked.
  • Another way to properly maintain your radiator is to change the antifreeze solution every two years. Drain the radiator, pump water in the pipes, and then place new radiator fluid inside.

Evercool

In 1993, Roberts AIPMC entered the market with homegrown, Filipino-made radiators aptly named Evercool. Not only is it durable, but it also promises to stay cool all the time, any time. This is achieved with the use of additional water tubes and cooling fins.

Evercool’s radiators are also 100% guaranteed leak-free, going through several, world-class leak tests. They are also put under the strictest of vibration and pressure checks to ensure that their radiators can withstand intense heat on long journeys.

These radiators have been widely recognized and used by clients such as Mitsubishi, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc.

Evercool’s radiators are not just limited to automobiles. They also have heat exchangers for devices like computers and generator sets. Evercool’s engineers can also create radiators according to the client’s exact specifications.

Types of Evercool radiators

Evercool has 3 kinds of automotive radiators out in the market today, created according to the specific needs of discerning drivers/auto mechanics.

  • Alpha – Perfect for vehicles such as passenger cars and light commercial automobiles. For standard vehicle use, Evercool Alpha fits your car, and budget, perfectly.
  • Supra – For owners of pick-up vans, trucks, SUVs, and other middleweight vehicles, Evercool’s Supra line is strategically designed for vehicles used for long travels and medium load bearing.
  • Ultima – When it comes to heavy-duty, rough ‘n tough performance, no radiator does it best like Evercool’s Ultima. Tough. Durable. Efficient. You can put your heavyweight vehicle through loads of automotive punishment and come out relatively unscathed due to the powerful heat resistance this radiator possesses.
